Thankful

SO much to be thankful for...

Cabin Vacation

Right before Thanksgiving, we were able to get away from the business of life and rest at the Beltrand Family cabin.
We went for walks,
watched the sunset,
played together,
rode the Ranger,
and spent time as a family!

Our Little Monkey

We were are one, big, happy family this Halloween. Selah was the monkey. I was the banana. Scott was the tree. We visited grandparents, aunties, uncles, cousins...
and good friends.
It was a busy day for a busy little monkey.
With so much going on she needed to take a break and enjoy what all monkeys enjoy: a banana!
Thankful she is our little monkey.

Apple Farm

Selah and I went to an apple farm yesterday with my mom and two of my nieces. Selah had the time of her life. We saw apple trees but it was really all about the animals for Selah.

She fed goats and pet cats.
She cuddled with baby chicks.
She pet a pig and
and impersonated one.

She was head butted on the butt by baby goats and
and pecked on her finger by the chickens.

We did take a break every now and then. We went on a very muddy tractor ride and
sat on tractor stools for a great photo op.

We ended our time on a high note playing in corn. Selah had a blast! What more can a girl ask for besides animals, mud, more corn than one has ever seen in her life to play in, cousins and a grandma that adore you and a late nap time! Can I be 18 months again?

Pumpkin Flu

We had plans to go to the apple orchard this past Sunday. Those plans were thwarted by H1N1. Dad was not going to let daughter or mom, mostly mom, be disappointed. He rescued us, again mostly mom, from complete and total stir craziness. He headed right on over to Rainbow and bought us a pumpkin to carve.
Selah now knows the finer points of pumpkin carving and how a pumpkin becomes a jack-o-lantern thanks to her daddy.

Selah is not a big fan of the pumpkin guts. Mom and dad are not big fans of H1N1.We are all big fans of Toby the Jack-o-Lantern. Mom is a HUGE fan of Daddy and Selah, H1N1 and all.

Praying that this H1N1 will be gone from our home and that we'll get to an apple orchard this weekend.

Go Gusties Go!

Scott had Selah saying this by Saturday morning. Just in time to go visit his alma matter for his 10 year reunion. We got a daddy/daughter picture at the entrance. Scott got really excited about the idea of comparing this one to another one we'll take in 17 years when she goes to college there;)
We watched the football game and saw some of Scott's old teammates.
Ran the track and
Visited Scott's old house. They called him Pa Walker. Standing in front of the sign with his daughter he said, "I really am Pa Walker now!"
